The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may / will be applied and first consideration may / will be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.
This process will be used to create a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates that could be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles, various security profiles, and various tenures.

Education:
• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.*

• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
• Experience working with a variety of software applications including: word processing, spreadsheet, and presentations such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting information and providing recommendations to your supervisor.
• Experience working and living in Northern Canada, which is defined as north of the 60th parallel.
• Experience OR ability working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.

Asset Qualifications:
Education:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the work to be performed
Experience:
• Experience working in a health or social services field
• Experience working with grants and contributions
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the Government of Canada Policy on Transfer Payments, the Directive on Transfer Payments, and the Guidelines on the Directive on Transfer Payments
Organizational Needs:
• In alignment with the APEP in support of strategically increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of FNIHB’s target population, selection may / will be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples. Aboriginal candidates must use the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF).
