The inventory will be updated every 90 days. You will receive a notice in your applicant account 14 days before the end of your active period to determine whether or not you wish to keep being considered for an additional 90 days.

The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team. Depending on the needs of the organization, candidates will be randomly selected from the inventory for assessment purposes. This process may be used to establish a pool of partially or fully qualified candidates which may be used by National Defence to staff positions with various linguistic profiles, various security profiles, various locations across Quebec and various tenures such as (indeterminate, term and casual position).

Experience working in a warehouse for at least six (6) months during the past five (5) years.

Experience in the operation of Material Handling Equipment (lift).
Experience with customer services
Knowledge
Knowledge of methods of handling and hygiene methods and storage requirements for food products.
Knowledge of the policies and regulations regarding health and safety and WHMIS.
Knowledge – HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COMPONENT only (for some positions only)
Knowledge of how to handle hazardous materials (Hazmat).
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Have or be able to obtain a DND driving permit (DND 404).
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Reliability status or Secret clearance, depending on the position to be filled.
The following conditions of employment may also apply, depending on the position to be filled:
Hold a valid (for example, in Province of Quebec, unrestricted and non-graduated Class 5 provincial driver’s licence) provincial or territorial driver’s licence.
Be able to submit a satisfactory SAAQ report.
Be willing and able to work at heights.
Be willing and able to work in confined spaces.
Be willing and able to work in a dusty environment.
Be willing and able to bend down, to lift and transport items weighing up to 15 kg, and to safely use warehouse equipment.
Be willing and available to work shifts (day and night).
Be willing and able to do overtime, as needed.
Be willing and able to occasionally travel for work for training purposes.
Be willing and able to wear CSA-approved footwear and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Candidates must meet and maintain the above conditions throughout their employment.
