Duties

The Senior Manager provides day-to-day leadership to Application Services (AS) operations related to Project Management, Development, Quality Assurance, Release Management, Incident & Problem Management and Operational Reporting & Tools. The incumbent manages a team of professionals and is expected to ensure that the roles and responsibilities of all team members are carried out in an effective and efficient manner and that OSFI’s high professional standards are maintained.

Work environment

OSFI’s IM/IT Division manages a diverse portfolio of in-house and externally-hosted business applications and services that enable our supervisory and regulatory mandate and supporting functions. Our core technologies are predominantly Microsoft based. We have a broad enterprise information management program that is aligned with the Government of Canada’s policy framework. Our work environment is fast-paced, collaborative, dynamic and challenging. Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position for an indeterminate period.

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.), linguistic requirements (English Essential, Bilingual Imperative, Bilingual Non-Imperative), linguistic profiles (CBC/CBC, BBB/BBB, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, etc.) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION
1. Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
1. Project management certification (such as PMP, PRINCE2, AMP, etc.)

EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in project management, including leading a project from inception through System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and closure
2. Experience leading and mentoring a team of IT Support Specialists which provide technical support to address client issues
3. Experience managing human resources, including establishing performance objectives for employees
4. Experience managing financial resources to meet operational objectives
5. Experience with Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) operational performance management methodologies and metrics

This job is located in the National Capital Region (NCR). Candidates who are not within commuting distance of the NCR may be required to pay for their travel (including travel for assessment purposes), and may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses if offered the position.
