Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions within Shared Services Canada in various locations across Canada. All federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Definition of combination of education, training and/or experience:
A candidate who does not meet the minimum education must have at least 2 ½ years of IT related experience. In addition to the 2 ½-years IT related experience requirement, the equivalent to two years of valid IT related experience is required for each year of post-secondary studies in IM/IT that the candidate does not have.*

Degree equivalency

Experience
E1. Significant* and recent** experience in Cyber and IT Security.
E2. Significant* experience assessing IT Security related risks, their impacts and the development of mitigation recommendations.
E3. Significant* and recent** experience leading or managing security in at least one of the following area:
-IT security vulnerability assessment
-IT security assessment and authorization (SA&A)
-IT security incident management
-IT security risk management
-IT Security Operations
E4. Recent** experience providing technical advice to management related to IM/IT and IM/IT Security, through the following:
-Preparation of Briefing Notes
-Preparing and delivering presentations
-Drafting and/or providing specific technical recommendations as part of technical or policy suite (ex. standards, directives) documentation
E5. Recent** experience analyzing client requirements to implement IM/IT solutions.

EXPERIENCE DEFINITION:
* "Significant" means 3 or more years of combined experience.
** "Recent" means in the last five years.

Asset Experience

EA1. Significant* experience developing and implementing IT security policies, procedures, and standards based on GC and/or NIST standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
EA2. Significant* experience designing, implementing and supporting an enterprise security solution.
EA3. Experience analyzing information and reports in the Cyber and IT Security Domain.
EA4. Experience implementing, supporting or testing IT security solutions within multi-zoned data center environments.
EA5. Experience contributing to the development and management of an IT security program, including: security awareness, policies, standards, procedures, processes, monitoring, risk management, and activities surrounding the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of IT infrastructure.
EA6. Experience conducting technical research and analysis of cyber threats and IT security incidents.
EA7. Significant* experience supporting security services such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Security Event Management, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Data Loss prevention, Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment or other related Cyber/IT security services.
EA8. Experience working in a Security Incident Response team.
EA9. Significant* experience conducting reverse malware analysis through behavioral and code analysis.
EA10. Significant* experience with IT architecture design.
EA11. Significant* experience writing detailed reports to be presented to Executives (Director and above).
