To keep pace with growing and increasingly complex demands, the Deposit Taking Supervision Sector (DTSS) is seeking a highly motivated individual with a broad financial industry and risk management perspective to participate in the supervision, analysis and assessment of the financial condition, risk profile and risk management practices of Canada’s federally regulated deposit taking financial institutions. The Senior Supervisor will be a key participant in the ongoing monitoring and on-site review of significant business line activities and control functions. This position also participates in the analysis and identification of both sound practices and emerging risk trends across financial sectors.
This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
● A university degree; specializing in business, commerce, economics, accounting, mathematics, sciences, engineering, or another relevant field OR a combination of education, experience and training.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
● Recent and significant experience in the financial services sector* in one or more of the following key areas: Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit including demonstrated experience related to one or more of (Credit, Market, or Operational risk) or other relevant financial services experience.
● Recent and significant experience in the financial services sector including critiquing risk management practices and assessing one or more of the key risk areas noted above.
* Financial services sector experience is defined as experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
● Recent and significant experience in the Canadian financial services sector in one or more of the following key areas: Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit including demonstrated experience related to one or more of (Credit, Market, or Operational risk), Line Management, Finance, Business Operations or Middle Office, and/or
● Recent and significant prudential supervision experience in the Canadian financial services sector involving one or more of the key areas noted above.
● Experience in credit risk analysis and assessment.
● Experience in operational risk analysis and assessment.
● Experience in capital markets risk analysis and assessment.
● Experience in leading/managing teams of people.
● Experience in relationship management.
● Financial analysis/management.
ASSET KNOWLEDGE
● A general understanding of OSFI’s role in the supervision of the Canadian Financial System and OSFI’s Supervisory Framework.
