SEEKING A NEW LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE AT ISED IN THE NEW BUSINESS SERVICES BRANCH?
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) is seeking to hire a highly motivated and creative individual in its newly created Business Services Branch to lead the design and delivery of intellectual property (IP) education and awareness products and services. CIPO's Business Services Branch is the federal government's centre of excellence for IP-related outreach and education of businesses across Canada. We have an exciting mandate to increase IP awareness in Canada, which is central to the Government of Canada’s priorities related to improving services for business and innovation. The new director will engage and collaborate with businesses, partners and clients directly to ensure businesses and innovators have the IP knowledge they need to succeed in the global marketplace.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree * from a recognized post-secondary institution **
* Degree: A baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities, unless the type of credential is specified in the relevant Qualification Standard.
** Recognized post-secondary institution: Public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs. It is the candidate's responsibility to demonstrate that the degree/program held has been approved by a "recognized" Canadian university. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your application.
EXPERIENCE
1) Significant * and recent ** experience in the design and/or delivery of products and/or services to the public and/or the business community.
2) Significant * experience in establishing and sustaining partnerships with stakeholders.
3) Significant * experience providing strategic advice, both verbally and in writing to executives.
4) Experience in managing human and financial resources. (Please indicate number of employees supervised as well as size and type of budget managed).
* Significant experience: is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex related activities, which are normally acquired over a period of two years.
** Recent experience: is defined as experience acquired within the past five years.
