Natural Resources Canada is dynamic, creative and resourceful. Our organization is the centre of action for government research and policy regarding energy, mining, forestry and earth sciences. It has an exciting mandate that is central to Government of Canada priorities.
This process will be used to staff the above-mentioned positions. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff similar positions.

EDUCATIONS AND/OR OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCES
Stream 1 :
Experience at the executive level in providing communications services and in leading the development of communications strategies and products.
Experience in leading a transformation/change management initiative.
Stream 2:
Experience at the executive level in providing communications services and in leading the development of digital communications social media strategies and products.
Stream 1 & 2:
Experience at the executive level in managing human resources and financial resources. (Please indicate the number and level of direct reports, subordinates and the dollar figures of the budgets you directly managed in each position.)
Experience at the executive level in providing strategic advice, making recommendations, and writing and presenting briefing material to senior management on complex issues.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)

Knowledge of government priorities and how they relate to strategic, digital and social media communications.
Knowledge of the mandate, organization, governance structure and priorities of Natural Resources Canada.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized university in the field of communications, public administration.
EXPERIENCE
Stream 1 & 2:
Experience in leading the development of communications multi-faceted strategies and products on complex policy issues.
Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience in leading a departmental communications function or services.
Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
An interview may be administered.
A test may be administered.
A situational exercise may be administered.
Reference checks may be sought.
