The objective of this selection process is to staff one (1) position, but a pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar future positions of various tenures (acting, assignment, secondment, term, deployment, indeterminate).

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in physical sciences, geography, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology, conservation science, environmental science, natural resources or another science relevant to the position.
* “Degree” is defined as a bachelor’s or higher-level degree, as established by educational authorities, unless the type of credential is specified in the relevant qualification standard.
EXPERIENCE
• Significant* and recent** experience in managing the activities of a work unit, and human and financial resources in a regional organization.
• Significant* and recent** experience in managing complex issues concerning public policy, environmental or wildlife regulations or initiatives, and providing strategic advice to senior management.
• Experience in implementing programs in one of the following areas: environment, wildlife, natural resources management or biodiversity.
* “Significant experience” is defined as a minimum of four consecutive years of experience;
** “Recent experience” is defined as experience acquired within the last six years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Post graduate degree (masters, doctorate, etc.) in physical sciences, geography, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology, conservation science, environmental science, natural resources or another science relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in leading an operational program.
• Significant* and recent** experience in negotiating, and in building and maintaining partnerships with governmental, non-governmental and/or Indigenous organizations.
** “Significant experience” is defined as a minimum of two consecutive years of experience;
** “recent experience” is defined as experience acquired within the last four years.
