Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to staff numerous positions in various locations.
Regina - 3 positions (Indeterminate)
Prince Albert - 1 position (Indeterminate)

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM).

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment and acting). This may also be used for actings, assignments and secondments.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology, Statistics, or in a field related to the position such as Geography, Computer Science, or Social Sciences. Candidates must provide a detailed description of their specialization in their resume.

Degree equivalency

Significant* professional experience conducting social science research, data collection, identifying and assessing relevant information, identifying patterns and trends, and analyzing information.

Significant* professional experience writing reports and creating presentations of project findings which provide guidance or recommendations to internal or external stakeholders.

Significant* professional experience in developing or applying analytical techniques, qualitative/quantitative methodology, or technological solutions to advance a project.

Significant* professional experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with internal or external partners or stakeholders.

*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a minimum of two years in a professional environment.

Extensive* experience demonstrating proficiency with computers and office technology, software and applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience using analytical tools ( i2 / iBase, open source, and social media)

Experience in an operational law enforcement environment

Candidates from outside the federal public service may be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates.

The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Top Secret Security Clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

A test may be administered.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.
