A pool of prequalified candidates will be established within Transport Canada and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate / term / deployment) and/or various bilingual linguistic requirements (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC) and various security profiles.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma AND a completion of an acceptable program in electronics technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

NOTE: Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in the operation and maintenance of full flight simulators that are qualified to Level “D” Transport Canada or equivalent and flight training devices (FTD).

EX2: Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software systems.

EX3: Experience in supervising Flight Simulator technical workgroups.

EX4: Experience in Flight Simulator updates.

EX 5: Experience in the operation, maintenance and updating of Training Systems used in typical Flight Training programs.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
AED: Graduation from a recognized postsecondary institution Engineering degree (preferably in Aerodynamics)

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :
AOC1: AME E licence Aircraft Electronics Systems

EXPERIENCE :
AEX1: Experience in occupying a middle or senior role within an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) i.e. Senior Lead hand, Group Leader, Manager or Director.

AEX2: Experience in performing Aircraft updates i.e. airframe, power-plant, electrical/avionics.

KNOWLEDGE
K1: Knowledge of Flight Simulator Qualification standards (Transport Canada, TP 9685E latest revision).
K2: Knowledge in Continuing Flight Simulator Qualification.
K3: Knowledge of computer systems operation, maintenance and System Administration.
K4: Knowledge in Flight Simulator systems.
K5: Knowledge of Aircraft Systems (aeroplane and helicopter).

ABILITIES
A1: Ability to troubleshoot digital and analogue systems to identify deficiencies in the simulator.
A2: Ability to analyse, recommend and implement changes and procedures within Flight Simulator Operations.
A3: Ability to lead effectively Technical Staff as well as Contractors.
A4: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A5: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
