The immediate intent of this process is to staff the following three positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis:
- Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA);
- Director General, Governance, Policy & Strategy; and
- Director General, Engineering Services.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates will be created to fill similar positions within the Department of National Defence (DND).
DND is seeking individuals to fill key roles in the area of Infrastructure and Environment (IE), who are able to meet the challenge of the strategic management and delivery of Real Property services in one of the Government’s most complex departments. IE is mandated to continue a Transformation in improving services to Commanders in the Army, Navy and Air Force in five regions comprising over 35 significant campus locations. The team is a high energy and extremely skilled one at the business of infrastructure. In this role you will be called on to provide a high level of advice in support of the Defence real estate portfolio of 24,000 plus buildings, including 12,000 residential housing units, airfields, municipal works, industrial shops, research labs and high security facilities.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for directing and leading the CFHA in its mission to meet the housing needs of families. CFHA provides trusted and valued housing services to military members through the delivery of operations and maintenance services (including allocating housing to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their families, improving property and infrastructure, administering the rent system and managing housing assets) for the portfolio of military family housing units at CAF bases and wings across Canada.
The Director General, Governance, Policy and Strategy is responsible for the direction of the integrated strategic policy development and planning frameworks as well as the creation of ADM (IE) wide strategies, policies and business plans.
The Director General, Engineering Services is responsible for the direction, development and oversight of infrastructure and engineering services to all Level 1 Commanders and principal groups of the CAF and DND.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
E1. Significant (1) experience in providing strategic advice and briefings to senior management, stakeholders or key decision makers on complex (2) issues.
E2. Significant (1) experience in leading and managing large and complex (2) programs, projects or services.
E3. Significant (1) experience establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and building consensus with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
E4. Significant (1) experience in managing human and financial resources (3).
(1) Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of activities which are normally acquired at a senior management level, decision making level or military equivalent levels (Colonel or Capt(N) or above), over a period of at least two years; and the performance of those duties within the last five years.
(2) Complex refers to the following characteristics: multidimensional, high-risk, sensitive, involving many stakeholders and competing requirements.
(3) Human Resources management: applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised staff, assigned work, managed and assessed performance and developed or contributed to the development of staffing plans. Applicants are asked to include the size of the organization overseen.

EDUCATION:
