Intent of the process

This process aims to staff indeterminate (permanent) and determinate (temporary) positions at the Bagotville Garrison. However, a pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff determinate and indeterminate positions in Bagotville. Furthermore, this pool may be used to staff similar positions in the Ministry of National Defense.

EDUCATION :
Hold a valid electrical journeyman competency certificate from the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) (Construction or without construction)
and/or
A valid provincial (Emploi-Québec) or interprovincial (Red Seal) trade certification in the electrical field and/or
Hold a valid construction engineer military trade certification as an electrical distribution technician nevel QL-05 or DP2

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :
Recent* and significant** experience as an
electrical journeyman.
*Experience gained within the last five years
**Minimum experience of twelve months

KNOWLEDGE :
In-depth knowledge of construction site health and safety rules
Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, 2010 edition

ABILITIES :
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans
Ability to work at heights
Ability to communicate effectively orally

EXPERIENCES :
Significant* experience in industrial maintenance of infrastructure and electrical systems
*Minimum experience of three years
Experience in installing, programming, maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems
Experience in installing, programming, maintaining and repairing intrusion alarm systems
Experience in repairing and maintaining high-voltage systems
Linesman experience
Experience in installing and maintaining variable speed drives and other motor controls
Hold a valid Quebec Class 3 driver's licence

KNOWLEDGE :
SPECIFICALLY TO GL-EIM-11
Knowledge of fire alarm systems
Knowledge of programming intrusion alarm systems

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Hold or ability to obtain a DND-404 driver's licence from the Department of National Defence
Be available and willing to work overtime

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Security requirements depending on the position to be
staffed. (Enhanced Reliability and Secret level).
Maintain the conditions for obtaining a secret level of security

Ability to work at heights
Hold a valid Quebec Class 5 driver's licence
Be available to respond to an emergency service calls on a 24/7 rotation
Consent to wear a full personal protective equipment
