Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to staff numerous positions in various locations.
Edmonton - 5 Positions (Indeterminate)
Calgary - 1 Position (Indeterminate)
Leduc - 1 Position (Term)
Grande Prairie - 1 Position (Indeterminate)
St. Paul - 1 Position (Indeterminate)
Yellowknife - 1 Position (Indeterminate)

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM) for similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term or indeterminate basis.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.*

Notes:
1. Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
2. An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

*Proof of education in the form of official transcripts will be required.

Degree equivalency

Extensive* experience researching, collecting, evaluating and analyzing information, in order to offer guidance and recommendations.
Extensive* experience applying analytical techniques, methodology, or technological solutions.
Extensive* experience establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Extensive* experience preparing and presenting various reports, project findings, and/or briefing material for/to clients, managers or administrators.

Extensive* experience researching, collecting, evaluating and analyzing information, in order to offer guidance and recommendations relating to intelligence and criminal investigations.
Extensive* experience applying analytical techniques, methodology, or technological solutions relating to criminal intelligence.

Top Secret security clearance

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to attend training, or for work, as necessary.
Willingness and ability to testify in court.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, overtime, on evenings and weekends, and/or on a shift schedule.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Willingness and ability to be exposed to subject matter and/or material of investigations, which may be difficult to deal with.
Participation in the Intelligence Analyst Understudy Program.

Health Canada approved medical clearance (Isolated Post only). Meets and maintains any additional medical requirements for isolated posts, in accordance with Treasury Board policy and definitions of locations.
