Consider joining the Atlantic Regional Office of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada in Amherst, Nova Scotia as we work with our partners to help meet the Government of Canada's obligations and commitments to First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

As these positions will be staffed to work out of our Atlantic Regional Office, candidates are encouraged to apply only if they are willing and able to work out of the Atlantic Regional Office in Amherst Nova Scotia.
This is an anticipatory selection process and the intent of this process is for indeterminate and term appointment.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). Various linguistic profiles requirement as well as tenures and/or security clearance may vary according to the position being staffed.
The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignment, secondment or deployment under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate or higher level degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OR
• An acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as a high school diploma, relevant training and at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience (i.e. items listed under Essential Experience and/or asset criteria of the Statement of Merit Criteria, or any other related experience).
OR
• An acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as completing 2 years post-secondary education, relevant training and at least five (5) years of relevant work experience (i.e. items listed under Essential Experience and/or asset criteria of the Statement of Merit Criteria, or any other related experience).
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the delivery of a program or service.
• Experience in providing information and recommendations to management on operational and/or program issues.
• Experience in networking and consulting with partners who are internal and external to the organization.
EDUCATION:
• A degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in a field relevant to the position being offered.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in analyzing and understanding the analysis of financial statements and ratios.
• Experience in creating or using spreadsheets using Excel or other similar software.
• Experience in emergency preparedness and emergency response programs.
• Experience working with First Nations and/or First Nations Organizations.
• Experience in property management.
• Experience in municipal or community planning or related certification as a planning officer.
• Experience in policy development as it relates to program delivery.
• Experience in contract management.
• Experience in interpreting and applying legislation and regulations to operational issues.
• Experience dealing with land , environmental and natural resources management issues, particularly in relation to First Nation reserve lands.
• Experience in managing, coordinating or conducting program evaluation or auditing, program reviews, and/or compliance reviews.

This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test.
