Duties

Keeps custody of all stores supplies, equipment and provides shipping/receiving services. Provides pick-up and delivery service of equipment, laboratory/office supplies, specimens and dangerous goods for all of our client locations. Drives fleet vehicles to shuttle parcels and equipment to and from multiple building locations. Tags all assets to be entered in our inventory database.

Receives, stores, distributes and ships specimens, samples and kits from outside agencies, hospitals and manufacturers. Load and unload courier deliveries of all types and size, using physical strength and up to and including the use of a forklift. Works in a fast paced environment, with constant interruptions. Enters all incoming and outgoing items into a computerized database.

Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to fill 1 position on a permanent basis. The result of this selection process will be to create a pool of qualified candidates from which future permanent and/or temporary GS-STS-04 vacancies at the Public Health Agency of Canada may be filled.

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in shipping & receiving.
Recent** experience in transportation, handling and documentation of dangerous goods.
Recent** experience in forklift operations.
Experience using technology, including word processing, spreadsheet and email software.

** (Recent is defined as within the last 2 years)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a lab environment.
Experience working with SAP.
Experience in a supervisory role.
Experience driving fleet vehicle, up to 3 & 5 ton trucks.
Certification in TDG and/or Forklift Operations.
