Technical Services
The Technical Services, Prairie Region, of Correctional Service Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment whose mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio of more than $ 8 billion dollars in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The facilities we manage are varied, such as buildings and structures, building systems, infrastructure for utilities such as water, electricity and sewer, oil reservoirs, thermal power plants, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and vehicles.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

*The term “secondary school diploma” refers to high school as established by educational authorities.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Recent and significant* experience providing facility maintenance services in an institutional setting (example: prison, hospital, school, etc).
• Experience contributing to maintenance budgets and plans
• Experience providing advice and guidance to management to facilitate planning, managing and leading facilities management projects.

*Recent and significant is defined as 2 years in the last 5 years

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a college diploma in engineering technology or another discipline related to the position.
• Graduation with a degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering
• Applicable Provincial certification required to perform the duties of the position
• A certificate of qualification in a trade associated with facilities maintenance.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance program
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Experience developing requests for project proposals
• Experience providing fleet management support services
• Experience interpreting architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings, work orders, specifications and manufacturers data.
