Duties

The GL-MAN-08 will oversee the care and management of up to 96 horses, ensuring their health, safety and overall well-being. The role involves a combination of daily horse care tasks and maintenance of the stables and equipment. This will include the upkeep of the stables, cleaning stalls, handling horses, grooming, observing horses for signs of illness, care and maintenance of the riding school, ménage, paddocks and hot walker equipment.

The intent of the process is to fill a temporary position through a casual contract (up to 90 days).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

*Recent experience in equine husbandry
*Recent experience in the basic health and physical care of horses

*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in the operation of farm and related stable equipment.

Must be at least 18 years of age
Willing and able to work shift work, involving a rotation of day and night shifts
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, be on standby, or adjust schedule with little or no notice to meet operational requirements
Willing and able to work overtime
Willing and able to work on weekends and statutory holidays
Willing and able to lift, carry and/or push heavy or awkward items, weighing up to twenty-five (25) kilograms
Possession of a valid unrestricted driver's license
Willing and able to adapt to new and unfamiliar work environments both indoors and outdoors, where there is contact with dust, dirt, odours, noise, smooth surfaces, dampness, crowds, or extremes of hot and cold temperatures
