Duties

Are you someone who takes pride in presenting a clean space? Do you enjoy spending time outdoors? Are you the clean one in the family? Visitor Facilities Attendants play a very important role in Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park.
They are tasked with cleaning and maintaining Parks Canada Agency buildings, facilities, and grounds in all areas of our Parks. Facility Attendants typically work in a team during the peak season, however, those that work earlier or later in the season may have some more independent work.
The right people to fill these positions are going the extra mile to contribute to creating memorable experiences for visitors. As a presence in all regions of the park, Facilities Attendants have the opportunity to interact with visitors and answer inquires, provide direction, and represent the Parks Canada Agency at all times in addition to their routine cleaning and maintenance duties.

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Cleaning floors, windows, bathrooms, composting toilets;
- Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles;
- Cleaning equipment; and
- Performing minor repairs.

Work environment

Bruce Peninsula National Park (BPNP) and Fathom Five National Marine Park (FFNMP) are located at the tip of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

BPNP is characterized by shoreline cliffs plunging into the turquoise water of Georgian Bay, large tracts of forest, and a mosaic of habitats home to black bears, rare reptiles, ancient cedar trees, orchids and ferns. FFNMP is Canada’s first national marine park, and known for its deep freshwater ecosystem, ancient rock formations, cliff edge forests, historic shipwrecks, and orchid species.

Together, these two parks protect complex ecosystems in the heart of the Great Lakes, and each year welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors who come for inspiration, recreation and connecting with nature.
