This process will establish a pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within PSPC (indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, or secondment).

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering, environmental engineering, geological engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Eligible for Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

💼Experience

- Extensive* experience in managing** complex*** contaminated site assessment and remediation projects.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary project teams (includes consultants or contractors) and liaising with clients.
- Experience managing** procurement processes and contract management for engineering and/or construction projects.
- Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management, clients, and/or stakeholders.
- Experience managing**, preparing, or reviewing technical documents such as design or tender drawings, specifications, or cost estimates.

*Extensive experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through the performance of duties for a period of approximately six (6) years. This experience does not need to be consecutive but should cumulatively total six (6) years or more. Experience will be evaluated based on the depth and breadth of experience in regard to the amount, complexity, and diversity of the work handled and the level of autonomy demonstrated.

**Managing is defined as having hands-on responsibility, supervisory control or authority.

*** Complex is defined as projects involving at least two (2) or more of the following characteristics: high technical difficulty, high stakeholders and media interest, stringent regulatory compliance requirements, physical challenges, logistical challenges. The nature of the complexity must be explained in detail including the candidate’s role.

- Experience managing contaminated site assessment and remediation projects in remote locations.
- Experience in construction and/or engineering projects in a northern climate (north of 60th parallel).
- Experience in mining projects or mine reclamation projects.
- Experience managing projects subject to environmental regulatory frameworks in the Northwest Territories and/or Nunavut.
- Experience engaging Indigenous groups during project planning and implementation.
