Reporting to the Associate Director, the successful candidate will function as Lab safety, Occupational Health and Safety, and animal care committee coordinator resource person and as such will be responsible for providing support to staff and provide oversight of these programs to ensure compliance with AAFC policies and guidelines. The successful candidate will be required to provide support to a scientific program and prepare and maintain accurate records of experiment protocols, standard operating procedures and safe working procedures. The successful candidate will be working with a scientific program in plant, meat and/or animal research and so will be required to maintain efficient and effective communication with the co-workers.

● Experience planning, organizing and overseeing investigations into accident causations and hazard identification.
● Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Plant, Food or Biological Sciences or other area of specialization relevant to the position.
