HOW TO APPLY

You will be required to answer screening questions to demonstrate how you meet the Essential Qualifications (Education and all Essential Experiences).

When answering the screening questions, it is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must provide concrete examples of tasks you have accomplished with significant details to explain the WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and HOW you acquired each qualification.

For each experience criteria, please provide the following information:

1- Name of the department or organization where the experience was acquired;
2- Title of the position occupied, group and level and the period(s) in which you performed the functions (M-Y to M-Y);
3- Specific details of tasks or projects demonstrating how the experience was acquired (Situation/Challenge, Tasks, Action and Result).

Duties

Coordinates and manages various projects and/or programs within the Administration and Personnel Office.
Provides advice to managers on the Public Service Performance Management system.
Liaises with the Administration and Personnel Office and program sectors to coordinate training needs for employees.
Responsible to manage diverse projects. Fexibility is a must as priorities can swiftly change in order to support the Admin and Personnel Officer’s initiatives.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, including acting appointments and deployments.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/or permanent positions.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
c. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
d. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the AS classification.

The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.

Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the AS classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

Degree equivalency

Experience managing projects.
Experience extracting, compiling and analyzing data from a variety of databases.
Experience creating reports for management.
Experience creating spreadsheets using Excel to manage data.
Experience providing recommendations to management.

Successful completion of post-secondary educational program with a specialization in human resources management, public or business administration or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
