Intent of the process

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Anticipatory Staffing - A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment and acting).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree, certificate, or diploma, from a recognized post-secondary institution, in a discipline relevant to the duties of the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. (Disciplines could include, but are not limited to: Engineering, Applied Science, Business, Real Estate, Certified Engineering Technologist, Applied Science Technologist, Construction management, Project Management, Real Property Administrator, Facility Management Administrator, Certified Property/Facilities Manager, Certified Asset Management Professional, or a Red Seal Trade Certificate).

Degree equivalency

Experience providing facility accommodation and/or real property management services such as managing projects to acquire, dispose, build, lease or renovate real property.

Experience in managing contracts and administering the delivery of services.

Experience with development and execution of program strategies.

Experience in managing financial resources through activities such as costing, forecasting, monitoring, and/or reporting on variances.

Experience in reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications.

Experience managing human resources through coaching/training, performance management, and/or human resource planning.

Experience in successful negotiations in real property management services, such as leasing, contracts, or issues management.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
