Intent of the process

The immediate vacancies that will be staffed from this process are two (2) French essential positions.

This process will also be used to fill future vacancies in various locations with varying employment durations, language profiles, security requirements and employment conditions within the Department of National Defence ..

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
EDU1. Hold a Certificate of Qualification in Drinking Water * and Wastewater ** issued by Emploi-Québec
AND one of the following qualifications:
A college diploma (DEC) in water sanitation;
Diploma of college studies in water sanitation;
Professional study diploma (DEP) in water treatment process management;
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Water Treatment Plant Operation;
PD 2 or PD 3A/B military qualification as a Water, Petroleum Products and Environment technician.

* Qualification of complete treatment of surface or underground water and distribution.
** Qualification of wastewater treatment by mechanized station.

Degree equivalency

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EDUCATION
AEDU1. Petroleum mechanic certification;
AEDU2. Training in and qualifications for family leisure pools (CPO).

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEX1. Experience in drinking water supply and distribution network systems;
AEX2. Experience in the operations of a waste water treatment plant;
AEX3. Experience with sanitary and storm networks;
AEX4. Experience managing family leisure pools;
AEX5. Experience in the operations, maintenance, installation, inspection and repair of petroleum storage systems;
AEX6. Experience with procedures for water systems repairs.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to obtain a DND 404 driver's licence;
Willingness to work in confined spaces;
Willingness to travel for work.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Security level: reliability;
Be able to obtain and maintain a National Defence;
driver’s licence (DND 404);
Hold a valid Class 5 Quebec driver’s licence;
Must submit a satisfactory Quebec Drivers Abstract (SAAQ);
Be available to work overtime during the week and/or weekends, sometimes on short notice.
