➨ Stream 1: Maintenance Tradesperson / General Duty and Relief Instructor
Responsibilities: The role involves providing general maintenance (corrective and preventive), and, in some institutions, minor service of vehicles and/or grounds keeping services. This can embrace a range of specific tasks, including providing services to support maintenance shops, grounds, labor, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal, paint, masonry, service plant, composter and garage (which are considered maintenance activities or part of the maintenance shop) for a CSC institution, and for providing the necessary training to offenders.
➨ Stream 2: Ornamental Groundskeeper
Responsibilities: This position is primarily focused on the maintenance and repair of grounds, landscaping, horticulture, roads and facility parking areas. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for greenhouse operations, heavy equipment and agricultural services, snow removal, landscaping and installation services for Correctional Service Canada facilities.
