The primary responsibilities of the Electronic-Optronic Technician is to:
Inspect, test, identify faults in, adjust, repair, recondition and modify electrical, electromechanical, electronic, electro-optic and mechanical equipment, optical instruments, and control systems for weapons and missiles.
• Repair surveillance and thermal observation systems;
• Maintain fibre-optic systems;
• Repair laser systems;
• Maintain optical, electrical and electronic test equipment;
• Repair portable and trailer-mounted power-generating systems; and
• Operate and maintain general-purpose and specialized tools and equipment.

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Note:
Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience working in the Electronic Optronic trade.
EX2: Experience troubleshooting electronic equipment.
EX3: Experience planning, coordinating and managing electronic equipment, test equipment or telecommunication systems.
EX4: Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of electronic equipment and related auxiliary equipment.
