Intent of the process

The initial intent of this process is to fill one (1) indeterminate, English essential position located in Cypress North, Manitoba (Shilo, MB) and one (1) indeterminate, English essential position located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Petawawa, Ontario does not currently have an immediate vacancy but may in the future.

A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

OC1. Must have a minimum of Civilian Ammunition Technician 2 (CAT 2) certification in accordance with the Civilian Ammunition Technician Accreditation Program;

OR

Completion of Military Ammunition Technician Trade Training QL5 or RQ-Cpl.

ASSETS

AEX1. Experience in warehousing operations.
AEX2. Experience in issuing, receiving, warehousing, and inspecting ammunition and explosives.
AEX3. Experience in the use of material handling equipment, mobile support equipment, and ammunition and explosives tools and equipment.
AEX4. Experience in disassembly, repair, modification, maintenance, testing, and calibration of ammunition and explosives.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

▶ Additional conditions of employment may be required depending on the position being staffed.
Candidates may be contacted and asked to submit information to confirm conditions of employment.

CO2. Possession of a valid provincial/territorial equivalent driver’s license.
CO3. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a valid DND 404 licence.
CO4. Must be able to lift up to 25kg, without assistance, in accordance with safe lifting practices.
CO5. Must meet Health Canada medical requirements, in accordance with Treasury Board guidelines.
CO6. Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
CO7. Must be willing and able to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as directed.
CO8. Must be willing and able to work overtime on occasion.
CO9. Must be willing and able to travel as required.
