The Salmon Enhancement Program operates 23 salmon hatcheries and spawning channels that are an integral component in Canada’s effort to support sustainable fisheries. The Salmon Enhancement Program is conducting a hiring process seeking candidates for Fish Culture Technician (GL-MAN-03) positions. Staff members at these facilities are involved in many aspects of hatchery operations and fish production. Education:

Experience:
• Experience in equipment operation, maintenance or repair.
• Experience working in outdoor environments. This could include working outdoors on fishery, forestry, parks projects or other labour relevant to hatcheries.

Occupational Certification:

• Completion of Swift Water Rescue Training

• Experience operating and maintaining equipment associated with a fish culture facility.

• Experience working cooperatively with First Nations, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
