Assessment accommodation

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard are stronger and most effective when we reflect the diversity of the Canadian population we serve. In support of achieving a diversified workforce, first consideration may be given to candidates self-declaring as belonging to one of the following employment equity groups: Indigenous Peoples, Visible Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and Women. As part of your application to this selection process, we invite you to self-declare which employment equity group(s) you belong to. To learn more, visit our website on Self-declaring for Government of Canada jobs: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/opportunities/government/self-declaring-government-canada-jobs.html

You must ensure that your application includes an up-to-date resume and must complete all of the screening questions clearly demonstrating with concrete information and examples how you meet the essential education and experience criteria. It is insufficient to simply state that you do have the essential education and experience criteria; the Selection Board requires illustrative information and examples in the screening question responses. Failure to complete the screening questions will result in your elimination from the selection process.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Depending on the position being staffed, any other requirements may also be deemed as essential or asset requirements for the position.

Applications will be periodically pulled and reviewed/assessed based on needs. The first pull of candidate applications could be as early as July 5, 2024. It is therefore important for candidates to apply online as soon as possible. Other screening processes will be conducted periodically as vacancies arise.
