The first application extraction will take place on February 10, 2023. The subsequent extractions will take place on a "as and when needed" basis.”

The immediate need of this process is to staff 1 (one) GL-MDO-08 full-time position in Sandspit, BC.

Transport Canada may establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures (such as assignment, secondment, deployment, acting, specified period or indeterminate). These positions could have various security and language requirements and/or profiles.

Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in the operation of heavy equipment utilized in Airport Operations in all seasons and in various weather conditions.
Experience in planning and directing preventative maintenance and repair of commercial facilities, utility systems, paved surfaces and landscaping in large public accessed areas.
Experience in working in a regulatory compliance environment that use Safety Management System (SMS) with industry acceptable computer systems or software.
Experience using software programs to prepare documents, spreadsheets and electronic communications (email, MS Teams, etc).

ASSETS QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in emergency response services.
Experience in supervising 3rd party service contractors.
Experience in applying and interpreting the Aerodromes Standards and Recommended Practices – TP 312 to guide the safe operations of an airfield and airport facility.
Experience in airport operations in all seasons and in various weather conditions.
Experience in bird and wildlife control methods, techniques and procedures used at Airports.
Experience in supervision of staff, which includes Employee Performance Management.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Acquire and maintain a valid Firearms License within 6 months of appointment.
Acquire and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP) within the first 6 month of employment.
Acquire and maintain a Radiotelephone Operator's Restricted Certificate (endorsed aeronautical) within the first 6 month of employment.
Acquire a Restricted Area Pass to work within the airport restricted area within 6 months of appointment.
Obtain and maintain a Class 3 Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement within 6 months of appointment.
Successfully complete all training required by regulation. (e.g. Global Reporting Format Certification)

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance
Pre-Placement and Periodic Medical as required.
Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Willingness and ability to travel for training and to offsite work locations.
Willingness and ability to work overtime, variable hours and weekends.
Willingness and ability to work standby. (If required, be able to report for duty as quickly as possible).
