The intent is to create a pool of qualified candidates that will be used to staff bilingual administrative type positions within various federal government organizations within the National Capital Region (Gatineau/Ottawa) ONLY.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:

Experience providing administrative support services in an office environment*;

Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

*Administrative support services is defined as, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, and other related duties.

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in researching, extracting, collecting information or manipulating data using systems;
- Experience in performing tasks related to financial information or financial documents (e.g. budget tracking and forecasting, acquisition card reconciliation or petty cash);
- Experience coordinating administrative activities in the office of a senior manager (director-level and above);
- Experience scheduling and organizing travel arrangements, or processing claims;
- Experience in editing, proofreading or verifying correspondence or reports;
- Experience providing contracting or procurement support services;
- Experience in project management;
- Experience with a correspondence tracking system;
- Experience working in a fast-paced or high volume environment (e.g. call center, help line, marketing, sales, or surveys);
- Experience working in a human resources environment;
- Experience working in a legal or law enforcement environment;
- Experience providing administrative support services in the field of safety, security or emergency response;
- Experience working with Indigenous communities.

Conditions of employment

Various security requirements: Reliability Status, Security Clearance (Confidential, Secret, Top Secret). This factor is not used at the pre-screening stage. The hiring organization is responsible for the security clearance process.

Conditions of employment specific to the position being staffed, such as but not limited to: requirement to work overtime on short notice, requirement to travel within Canada, requirement to work shifts, etc. may be applicable. Tests

If your application is selected for further consideration, you will be invited to attend in-person testing. Test sessions will ONLY take place in cities where the Public Service Commission has offices (Halifax, Gatineau, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver).

The following competencies: Written communication, Judgement, and the ability to accurately perform essential clerical tasks will be assessed using the following:

- Office Skills Test (OST-200)
- Written Communication Proficiency Test (WCPT-351)

*IMPORTANT*
If you have previously written any of the above tests, please ensure that you have a copy of your results and be prepared to send them upon request.

(Expect a 5-day turnaround time).

Retest Period: There is a 180-day waiting period before the tests can be re-written. Should a person re-write the test before the retest period has elapsed, the new result will not be valid, and a new retest period will begin as of the most recent test date.

PSEE - Test of Judgement UIT

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
