When you submit an application for this selection process, your application will be included in the inventory if you meet the essential qualifications, and it will be assessed in the event that positions need to be filled. Only one application may be submitted, and it will be kept in the inventory until March 16, 2018. Duties

Performs service delivery administrative functions to support business stream activities:

Applies established procedures and guidelines relating to the validation of information for both administration and program delivery.

Analyses and validates data and/or documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance. Carries out fact-finding activities to research and retrieve information in order to determine entitlement or identify areas of apparent misuse of funds/benefits.

Obtains, inputs, maintains and extracts data and documentation related to applications, claims, invoices, requisitions and other administrative forms. Communicates with clients and employers to obtain and provide required information.

Makes payment or administrative decisions related to computer generated data on straight forward/non-complex applications that are complete and in compliance with the established criteria, procedures, guidelines and system authorities (e.g. adjudication of clerical audits to determine overpayment).

Refers cases as per clearly established procedures and guidelines to the appropriate level for decision.

Identifies, prepares reports and refers complex cases to the appropriate level for decision within clearly established procedures and guidelines.

Coordinates logistics for meetings/sessions, or committees (e.g. scheduling location, participants and follow-up).

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be created to staff temporary and/or permanent appointments at full time or at part time in Sept-Îles. This staffing process also could be used to fill other temporary similar positions at Service Canada.

Please note that this process will ONLY be used to staff positions in Sept-Îles, Quebec. Applicants are encouraged to apply ONLY if they are able to work in Sept-Îles.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

* Acceptable combination is defined as: 4 years of high school AND 12 months of experience if a field related to the position to be filled.

OR

A diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in a field related to the position to be filled.

If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. This will enable you to provide proof of Canadian equivalency when applying for a job in the public service. Experience in delivering services or programs to the general public involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification, acquired over a period of approximately twelve (12) months, cumulatively or continuously during the last five (5) years.

Experience in using technology (e.g. Software Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet) acquired over a period of approximately six (6) months, cumulatively or continuously during the last three (3) years.

Successful completion of two years of post-secondary education in a recognized educational institution (eg, community college, CEGEP, university) in a program such as administration, office technology, accounting or insurance.

Experience in delivering services at Service Canada.

Experience in the application of laws and regulations.

Experience in verifying and authenticating information, acquired over a period of approximately six (6) months, cumulatively or continuously, during the last three (3) years.

Experience in using technology such as SharePoint and advanced functions for the Software Microsoft Office, acquired over a period of approximately six (6) months, cumulatively or continuously, during the last three (3) years.

Experience in providing services to clients by phone, acquired over a period of approximately three (3) months, cumulatively or continuously, during the last three (3) years.

Experience in delivering Integrity services for Service Canada programs and services.

STEPS OF THE CURRENT SELECTION PROCESS

Interviews and examinations will be held at the place chosen by the employer. If you do not show up on the dates and times provided, your application may be rejected.

Testing can take place on the day, evening or weekends.
