Intent of the process

The inventory will be used to establish a candidate pool for filling current and future vacancies with various tenures (term, indeterminate, casual).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

In possession of a journey person Red Seal certificate in the area of Pipefitting/Steamfitting or TQ equivalent ( Trades Qualification Ticket )

Minimum two years experience and/or training in all aspects of Piping trade as it applies to general repair and maintenance of marine vessels

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

Knowledge of the pipefitting trade.

Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in an industrial environment.

Ability to interpret drawings,blue prints, sketches and samples.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

The following may be applied / assessed at a later date (may be needed for the job)

Experience working in a marine industrial environment such as a shipyard.
Experience working on submarines such as the Victoria Class.
Experience working on Marine Naval ships such as Halifax class frigates which are considered surface ships.
Experience with Victoria Class first level class systems/components.

Organizational needs:

Operational requirements:
Willing and able to work overtime and shift work.
Willing and able to travel on occasion.

Must meet and maintain the conditions below throughout employment:

Willing and able to work in cramped and/or confined spaces.
Willing and able to carry up to 25 kgs and climb vertical ladders.
Willing and able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
