APPLICATION INFORMATION
Persons are entitled to participate in the appointment process in the official language of their choice. Applicants will be asked to indicate in their on-line application their preferred official language for each of the following: a) correspondence, b) written exam, and c) interview.

COMMUNICATION WITH CANDIDATES
Candidates will be contacted by email and it is imperative that you provide a current email address that accepts e-mail from unknown users (some email systems block these types of email). Your application in this inventory will be active for 120 days. A notice that your application is about to expire will be posted to the My jobs menu of your account 30 days before the end of your active period. Ascertain the facts on such issues as reasons for loss of employment and availability for work. Determine the eligibility of persons applying for Employment Insurance, Canada Pension, Old Age Security Benefits and other ESDC Programs and Services. Investigate claimants when there appears to be fraud or abuse. Monitors the payments of benefits throughout the duration of a claim.
These Officer level positions provide information, advice and guidance, promote, adjudicate, calculate and ensure the integrity in the delivery of Programs. To excel in this position you must be; highly motivated a quick learner, quality oriented, client focused and able to thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment.
It is the intent to establish multiple pools on an ongoing basis [English Essential and Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC] for current and/or future vacancies. Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Reasoning Unsupervised Internet Test (UIT) as part of the screening for this selection process. Candidates will be expected to be available for assessment during the four weeks after being pulled from the inventory. Please ensure that you make yourselves available during this time. Further details will be made available via e-mail.
You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential and asset qualifications (i.e. Education, Experience) for the initial screening through your resume and in answering online screening questions. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process.

PROOF OF EDUCATION
Candidates will be required to submit their proof of education documents at the time of assessment.
If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your credentials and/or diploma assessed against Canadian education standards. SCREENING OR SELECTION BASED ON ASSET QUALIFICATIONS, ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS (EMPLOYMENT EQUITY), OR OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the screening stage.
SELECTION
A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, organizational requirements, or operational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Random selection and/or top-down selection may be used at any time during the process to identify which applicants will be further assessed.
TRAVEL RELATED TO THE SELECTION OR APPOINTMENT PROCESS
Please note that candidates (including employees of the Public Service ) will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and that travel costs will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.
