Intent of the process

This inventory is for casual employment which is a temporary employment of 90 working days or less, in a calendar year.

Your application in this inventory will be active for 6 months. You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer- approved alternatives

Degree equivalency

Recent experience working in food services within a commercial or institutional setting.

Experience in short order cooking

Knowledge of food preparation and service techniques (e.g. portion control, measuring ingredients, operating kitchen equipment etc.)

Knowledge of food receiving and storing procedures such as First in First out (FIFO)

Knowledge of safety practices and procedures within food services

Knowledge of proper food handling and storage practices

Knowledge of personal hygiene and kitchen sanitation practices in food services

Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations accurately

Ability to communicate orally

Ability to provide on the job training

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg

Effective interpersonal relationships

Possession of a valid recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification

Professional Culinary Art diploma

Degree equivalency

Experience working with cash register or Point of sale system
