Intent of the process

This inventory is for casual employment which is a temporary employment of 90 working days or less, in a calendar year, to meet needs from such contingencies as vacations, sick and training leaves, to conduct special projects that are anticipated but dependent of the availability of funds.

Your résumé.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Experience supervising a work crew working in-stream and in wetlands, engaged in the construction, installation and/or repair of:
-various types of in-stream watercourse crossing structures
-soil stabilization and site naturalization
-road construction and maintenance

Experience in proving direction to heavy equipment operators pertaining to work required on a site.

Experience in the operation of a surveyors level related to establishing grades and topographic elevations.

Experience in interpreting and applying engineering plans and designs.

Experience in interpreting topographic maps.

Experience in keeping daily/weekly site information records and providing regular updates to management.

Possession of a Water Course Alteration Certificate recognized by the Province of New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government.

Experience in fish rescue operations.

Experience in the installation of fish migration structures.

Experience or certification in HAZMAT handling and clean-up.

Experience with rigging and the use of hand signals.

Experience building Cofferdams and installing water control measures for the purpose of working-in-the-dry.

Increase employment equity representation, specifically through the recruitment of Aboriginal people, visible minorities, persons with disabilities and women.

May occasionally be required to work overtime.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of Canadian Drivers Licence equivalent to a Class 5 Drivers License in the Province of New Brunswick and must be able to obtain a DND 404 driving permit.

Candidates must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, perform heavy lifting and navigate over hilly and rugged terrain.
