You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Possession of Electrical Inter-provincial Red Seal Certification.
Recent* experience in the electrical trade.
Note: *Recent experience has been acquired in the last two (2) years.
Experience or acceptable training in all aspects of industrial wiring/maintenance at a journeyman proficiency
Experience with Marine wiring as it applies to ships of 600 tonnes or greater
Experience with Fibre / Cat 5E
Experience with Motor winding, overhaul, and control
Experience with Direct Current systems
Experience with battery maintenance
Experience with electrical troubleshooting
English essential
Information on language requirements
Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to install, remove, overhaul, and reinstall various marine system components or equipment.
Ability to interpret information in electrical equipment manuals, electrical schematic and cabling diagrams, and in work requirement specifications.
