The immediate need is to fill one (1) indeterminate position in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar permanent or temporary positions with different language and security requirements in research centers across Canada

π EDUCATION
β’ Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in entomology or a related discipline (i.e., biological sciences, ecology).
β
EXPERIENCES
β’ Experience providing technical support.
β’ Experience using taxonomic keys for insect identification.
β’ Experience establishing and maintaining healthy laboratory colonies of insects.
β’ Experience coordinating and conducting entomological research activities in a lab or field environment.
β’ Experience supervising staff.
β
KNOWLEDGE
β’ Knowledge of research in insect ecology and integrated pest management (including biological control).
β’ Knowledge of field entomology methods and equipment to assess changes in insect populations.
β’ Knowledge of methods to preserve insects for identification.
