HOW TO ANSWER SCREENING QUESTIONS
When submitting an application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the essential education, and the essential and asset experience qualifications. Your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your resume may only be used to validate this information.
• Provide responses in sentence format.
• Each response must include concrete, specific examples that speak directly to the experience sought.

For every successful police operation, there is a team of public service employees providing administrative support in order to help police officers and investigators to accomplish their mandate. These employees play a critical role in delivering services to our communities and supporting our local, provincial and national policing priorities. A pool of qualified candidates will be identified and may be used to staff various CR-04 positions, with employment tenures, language requirements, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the position being staffed.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Successful completion of two years of secondary schoolan acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. (see Note 1).
1. The combination of education, training, and/or experience must always be included whenever this standard is required for staffing positions in the CR group.
2. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the CR group must always be accepted as meeting the requirement for two years of secondary school.
Experience providing administrative support services such as drafting documents, filing, and processing mail, processing financial transactions.
Experience using Microsoft Office software, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience providing client service

Experience providing financial support services. (Services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, processing financial transactions, preparing financial status reports, etc.)
Experience in using Electronic Document Records Management Systems (such as GCDOCS, Sharepoint, or RDIMS).
Experience using a law enforcement database such as CPIC (Canadian Police Information System) or PROS (Police Reporting and Occurrence System).
Experience in providing records management services: indexing, classifying, cross-referencing, filing, charging files in/out, retrieving, retaining, archiving and/or destroying information/data.
Experience using TEAM (SAP)
Ability to type at 40 wpm with less than 5% error
Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations)
Various levels of security clearance from RCMP Enhanced Reliability to RCMP Top Secret
Some positions may require:
- Willingness and ability to lift up to 10 kilograms.
- Willingness and ability to possess a Class 5 Driver License or the personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license
- Willingness and ability to work part-time hours
- Willingness and ability to work shiftwork
- Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
