By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families, and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

Education:
• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*.
*Note: the employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are: A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
• Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders or clients.
• Experience providing advice and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, or various levels of management on policy, program or client-service related issues.
Asset Qualifications
Education:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
• Successful completion of formal training or qualifications in emergency management (i.e. emergency operations centre, incident command system or other related courses).
Experience:
• Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Metis people or Indigenous organizations.
• Experience in budget management (i.e. management of program funding, expenditures, program allocations or forecasting).
• Experience in monitoring contracts, grants, contribution agreements, or funding arrangements.
• Experience with community and/or capacity development practices.
• Experience providing advice and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, or various levels of management on Public Health related policy, program or client-service issues.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
