4. Tips for responding to screening questions:
▶ When responding please clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE each qualification was met and provide examples.
▶ Choose examples with sufficient complexity, impact and degree of difficulty that will allow you to illustrate to what extent and depth you have shown the behaviors expected for each qualification.
▶ Each example should include when the example took place, background of the situation, what you did, how you did it, what your role was in the situation, and what was the outcome.

📢 What to expect after you submit your application 📢
Step 1: Screening (Review of Applications)
▶ When you apply for this process you will be assessed on most essential merit criteria (education and experience) by the answers you provide in your online application. As a result, please ensure you allow yourself a significant amount of time to complete this application.
▶ You must meet the essential education and experience qualifications to move forward to the assessment phase.
Step 2: Assessment
▶ You are entitled to participate in the process in the official language of your choice, and you will be asked to indicate your preferred official language of correspondence in your application.
▶ An interview and/or written exam may be administered.
▶ Reference checks, as well as reviews of past performance appraisals, may be conducted. The Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than those provided by the candidates (within the Public Service only) in order to adequately assess the candidates.
▶ Be prepared to provide proof of education credentials. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. For more information, please click on “Degree Equivalency” in the Education section above.

🍁 The Manager, Administrative Support and Services position is attached to the Field Operations Division with the core mandate of delivering direct services to our Veterans and their families. With more than 1,200 employees across the country, Field Operations has a wealth of knowledge, skills, abilities and strengths in multiple areas thanks to its diverse workforce. The Manager, Administrative Support and Services manages a team responsible for the administrative aspect of several key portfolios for the area, including, but not limited to: Health & Safety, Accommodations, Human Resources, Client Services, Material Management, Security, IT, Information Management, Finance and Client Service.

1️⃣ Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a specialty relevant to the position being staffed.

2️⃣ Employer-approved alternative. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a field relevant to the position being staffed.
Experience:
EX1 - Significant* experience in managing individuals working in an administrative services environment.
EX2 - Significant* experience in the development of business and human resource plans.
EX3 - Significant* experience in financial forecasting, monitoring budget expenditures and providing strategic advice and recommendations to management.
* Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be associated with the performance of these duties as a major function for an approximate period of 12 months.
