Role:
The Detachment Services Assistant is the subject matter expert who provides administrative and operational support for police officers of the detachment.
Key duties include:
• Front counter service to the public
• Processing Criminal Record Checks
• Processing of traffic tickets
• Walk-in Complaints
• Answer internal calls
• Administrative oversight support of the detachment which includes but not limited to assisting the supervisor and the members when required
• Control and maintain an inventory of detachment supplies
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/or permanent positions.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.
Experience providing service to clients by telephone, in person or in writing.
Experience researching, extracting and compiling information from various sources.
Experience in the use of various information management systems and software programs such as but not limited to Excel, Word, Word Perfect.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing administrative services in a legal or police services environment, including researching and interpreting legislation and related legal documentation, creating and reviewing court related documents.
- Experience using police databases such as: PROS, PIRS, CPIC, JISNB, MSTeams
Bilingual - Imperative (BBC/BBC)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional overtime may be required.

Reliability Status security clearance - of the RCMP.
