Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.
This process will be used to staff an indeterminate full time position in Whitehorse Yukon.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school* or employer-approved alternatives.
*Two years of secondary school is typically completion of grade ten.
Experience performing general clerical duties, such as filing, processing mail, and reception.
Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Experience in using computer applications including two of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Experience in using police computer applications such as: PROS; PRIME; CPIC; etc.
Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross referencing, filing, retrieving, retention, archiving or destroying data.
Experience in providing operational or administrative support in a legal or law enforcement environment.
Experience working in a mailroom or shipping facility.
Operational Requirements:
Willing and able to lift and carry objects (maximum of 20 kg/44 lbs)
Willing and able to handle exhibits (drugs, firearms, forfeited/no value items)

Reliability Status security clearance - Royal Canadian Mounted Police Enhanced Reliability Status- All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Whitehorse is classified as an Isolated Post. As such, the successful candidate must meet all the conditions under the Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive prior to appointment. In addition, the successful candidate will be entitled to an Isolated Post Allowance.
Important financial information:
• Isolated Post Allowances (Northern Allowance) for Whitehorse ranges from approximately $7,999 to $10,805 which is based on if the employee has dependents.
• Vacation Travel Assistance is provided once a year for Whitehorse of approximately $752 for each eligible member of the household.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
