NRCan seeks a graduate student hire in the space of materials science and metallurgy. The project focuses on developing advanced battery manufacturing and recycling processes, including sodium ion and lithium ion batteries. The successful applicant will be responsible for literature survey and review, experimental design and execution, data collection and analysis, and data compilation and report preparation.

Education:
- Students enrolled or able to enroll in a program at McMaster University (proof will be required before the start date) with specialization in Materials Science and Engineering.
Experience:
- Have demonstrated through experience or work product, a capability to conduct research in materials science and/or metallurgy.
- Demonstrated experience in literature review and report/manuscript preparation.
In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
- Knowledge and/or experience in electrochemistry.
- Knowledge and/or experience in battery materials.
