A qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff this and other similar positions, at the IT-02 group and level for term, indeterminate or acting at full or part-time hours or lower level positions.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. EDUCATION
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
*Acceptable -Suitable for a position as determined by the manager unless otherwise regulated by the employer.

EXPERIENCE
► Experience extracting and conducting analysis of electronic data.
► Experience building, maintaining, repairing and upgrading personal and networked computer hardware
► Experience troubleshooting and/or problem solving with at least three of the following operating system platforms: Android, iOS, Windows, Linux or Macintosh.
► Experience preparing technical reports.

EXPERIENCE
► Experience in the application of forensic techniques and software applications designed for data analysis, such as password decryption, file systems recovery and extraction.
► Experience conducting reverse engineering on various data storage devices such as handheld PCs, cell phones, and networked and standalone computers to circumvent cryptographic/electronic security measures for decoding encrypted passwords and retrieving relevant data.
► Experience using forensic tool suites.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
► Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, overtime, on-call or on short notice, on evenings and weekends, and/or on a shift schedule.
► Willingness and ability to be exposed to subject matter and/or material of investigations, which may be difficult to deal with.
► May be required to work in adverse, unsanitary and sometimes hostile environments while assisting with the collection of digital evidence.
► Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).
► Willingness and ability to provide expert testimony in court.
► Willingness to meet and maintain the medical profile standards established for the position.
► RCMP Top Secret security clearance.
► Participate in the Technological Crime Understudy Program.
► Possession of a valid driver’s license.

A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
