Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1), English essential HP-03 position and two (2), English essential HP-04 positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Gagetown, NB.

This process may also be used to fill current and future vacancies in various locations with various employment tenures, language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
EDU1. A valid Power Engineer Class 2, Class 3 or Class 4 Certification.

*Candidates that hold a Power Engineer Class 4 Certification are required to obtain a valid Power Engineer Class 3 Certification within 24 months.

Must register with the jurisdiction, within the province of work if you do not possess a certification for the jurisdiction.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1. Experience assisting in the operation and maintenance of a Heating Plant*
OR
Experience operating a Heating Plant*

EX2. Experience applying Provincial and Federal legislation associated with power engineering.
EX3. Experience following safety practices relevant to the position.
EX4. Experience using basic Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

*Definition of Heating Plant - Contains high and low pressure boilers, oil and gas burners, pressure vessels, feed water systems, heat exchangers, liquid and gaseous fuel systems, chemical feed systems, compressed air systems, auxiliary equipment and heating systems.

Reliability Status security clearance

Valid provincial or territorial driver's license.
Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain the Departmental driver’s license, DND 404.
Must be able and willing to work shift work and overtime.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, in confined spaces, from ladders and scaffolds, and perform heavy lifting.

Candidates must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
