- Oversees facility operation, maintenance and management of Major and minor capital construction projects for office, lab, greenhouse facilities.
- Plans, directs, controls and implements the operation and maintenance program for all the building systems and grounds at the Outlook Research Farm.
- Directly and indirectly manages students, trades, building systems technicians, and project managers and directs the work of private sector consultants and contractors.
- Performs mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural reviews/assessments, implements energy conservation initiatives and addresses health and safety issues.
- Prepares reports and statistics on building operations/maintenance and project management issues.
- Other related duties as assigned.
As one of the many Agricultural Research Farm sites in Canada, the Facility Manager position is located within the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canda Crop, Irrigation Diversification Centre in Outlook, Saskatchewan. This position will support the delivery of scientific research by providing enabling services in building operations and maintenance.

The purpose of this selection process is to staff one (1) English essential indeterminate (permanent) position in Outlook, Saskatchewan.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical EG-04 positions with various language proficiencies (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB) within Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience supervising contractors.
- Experience in facility management.
- Experience in managing construction/renovation projects.
- Experience using computer software, including Microsoft applications.
Asset Qualification
- Eligible for licensing in the province for which you are applying (Saskatchewan) in plumbing, electrical, power engineering, or refrigeration.
- Experience maintaining a greenhouse.
- Experience maintaining a containment lab.
