Intent of the process

Immediate need: one (1) permanent full-time position to be filled in Lethbridge (Alberta), Lacombe (Alberta) or Beaverlodge (Alberta).

*Note that as of April 1, 2023, AAFC employees are required to work on-site at least two (2) days per week or 40% of their work week.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment for the locations indicated for this process.

In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience providing administrative support services in three or more of the following areas:
formatting documents; data entry; managing an agenda for a senior manager; scheduling and organizing meetings/videoconferences; preparing and collating meeting information and background materials; procuring office equipment and supplies; maintaining a filing system; drafting, editing and tracking correspondence; completing organizational forms such as human resources or finance; and other related duties.

Experience using digital tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Internet-search software).

Experience in document or information management.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience providing administrative support to senior managers.
Experience coordinating travel arrangements and travel claims.
