This Ph.D. will start in January 2024 and end in December 2027.
Scholarship of $28,000/year divided into 3 equal installments each year. It is expected that the student will work approximately 10 to 15 hours per week for a three-year period (nine semesters).

Duties

We are actively seeking a driven Ph.D. candidate specializing in the areas of geology or geophysics to spearhead research on the modeling of geological prospectivity for critical minerals. This role entails the development of innovative methodologies for prospectivity modeling and their practical application within the domain of mineral exploration. The selected candidate will be expected to partake in group meetings, actively collaborate with the research team, and publish discoveries in esteemed, peer-reviewed journals.

Intent of the process

The intention is to staff one student position for the completion of a Ph.D. degree to be jointly supervised by Dr. Mohammad Parsasadr at Geological Survey of Canada.

Essential Education:
• Currently enrolled, or willing to enroll, at any Canadian University in a Ph.D. program with specialization relevant to the duties of the position.
• Graduation with a Master of Science in Earth Science, Geophysics, Computer science, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines from a recognized post-secondary institution. (see degree equivalency for more information.)
