About Us

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Essential Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree or applied degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to human behaviour such as the social sciences, psychology or criminology, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience providing needs focused client services and information or working in one or more of the following fields:
• Victim Services
• Crisis Intervention
• Emotional Support
• Needs Assessment
• Social Care Setting
• Community Work
• Counselling
• Court Preparation

• Experience analyzing information, situations, and issues and finding solutions
• Experience in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Asset Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience liaising, collaborating and working in partnership with components of the criminal justice system or outside organizations providing support to victims.
• Experience using the Offender Management System (OMS) and/or Victim Application Module (VAM).
• Experience in case management.
• Experience working with victims of crime.
• Experience with restorative justice.

• Knowledge of the role and responsibilities of government and external organizations involved in assisting victims of crime.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
