Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to fill an indeterminate full-time position.

A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree in forestry or wood science from a recognized post-secondary institution or
Graduation with a degree in a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience.

Degree equivalency

* Significant and recent experience coordinating multiple projects and service requests simultaneously.
* Significant and recent experience liaising with a wide variety of clients and collaborators.
* Significant and recent experience providing technical advice to clients on forestry or conservation related issues.
* Significant and recent experience developing information packages (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, technical notes, briefing notes) and presenting to a multi-disciplinary audience (e.g., management, collaborators, scientific and non-scientific).
* Significant and recent experience supervising staff.

* Significant and recent experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of these duties for a period of approximately 12 months in the last 3 years.

Knowledge of major issues impacting conservation of forest genetic resources in Canada.
Knowledge of the methods of collecting and analyzing data for publication in scientific journals and technical reports.
Knowledge of forest genetics or seed biology.

Knowledge of major issues impacting tree seed supply in Canada.
