Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff an indeterminate full time position

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

A secondary school diploma* or employer-approved alternatives

Degree equivalency

An acceptable combination of courses/workshops and years of experience**, or completed certificate or high education in related areas such as museum studies and collections management
**Minimum 2 years of experience required

Experience in handling historical artifacts

Experience with digital photography

Experience using museum database software, such as Emu, Filmmaker, PastPerfect

Experience conducting historical research and preparing reports on related findings

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
